Wrapping Instructions
 | |
| 1. Place the wrap length ways with top folded down about 15cm. Place baby’s shoulders on the top of the fold down and baby one side of the centre of the wrap. | 2. Place baby's arm under the fold of the fabric. Pull the seam of the wrap down beside baby's body and tuck under the shoulder blade to form a sleeve. | | | | 3. Pull the flap across the baby and tuck it under baby's body as high as possible under the shoulder blade bringing baby’s arm slightly across the body. | 4. Repeat step one to three again making sure you have tucked it slightly up under baby's shoulder blade not under the arm. Make sure there is not gap otherwise baby will wriggle her arm out. |
 | |
| 5. When you bring the side tightly across baby’s body tucking it under the elbow and firmly behind baby. Do not wrap baby's arms down we do not want to restrict the arms. | 6. Baby's arms are to be up near her, face, excess fabric can be folded under the baby. Wrapped this way will leave baby's hands up so that she can comfort herself yet restraining the startle reflex. |
Tips:
As human beings we naturally sleep with our hands around our faces. This is why we at Cradle 2 Kindy do not suggest strapping baby's arms down. Babies need there hands to comfort themselves, tightly wrapping arms may not only restricts their movement but their development. If you think about where your baby's hands were in utero or even how you sleep, you will find that naturally hands will be up near the face.
